Hectic schedules, wavering promotions,
hot-tempered bosses, and traffic jams just before reaching the
street of your destination--- this is a typical example of a very
bad day when everything seems to fall out of pieces and deliberately
ruin the whole plan for the entire evening. Yet, these must not
spoil everything, especially when it is treating yourself with the
most delicious and sought-after meals, offered by different
restaurants, bars and grills along the metro.
New restaurants are emerging with menus that will surely stimulate
your appetite. Amongst all of these are Pier One, Dencio’s, and
Gerry’s grill, which offer mouth-watering food with reasonable
prices, and turn each dining experience into a pleasant one.
PIER ONE

With their authentic
shipping-container-vans-remodeled-as-restaurants piled up in the
metro, to their experience-by-the-beach branches in Subic and
Boracay, Pier One indeed offers fine dining in a casual atmosphere,
inevitably enjoyed by families and friends. Their menu is a mix of
traditional Filipino, Asian and International recipes prepared using
the freshest ingredients. They have also adopted centralized
outsourcing to ensure the quality of food they serve, and also to
deliver the genuine Pier One experience in all of its branches.
The foods to die for are their Sinigang Na Hipon, Crispy Pata,
Kare-kare and Sisig. New dishes such as Oriental Prawns, Chicken
Rolls, Chicken Carbonara, Oyster Platter, Spicy Shrimp Cocktail,
Bacon Asparagus, Sushi, Sashimi are also hits among customers. A
specialized menu for kids is available so that children can also
have and enjoy the Pier One experience .
Pier One now has 10 branches all over the metro. It has also a
branch at the Ayala IT Park in Cebu. With a budget of Php150 to
Php250 you can stir up your appetite and say “All Aboard!”
DENCIO'S GRILL

“Bringing the BARRIO to the Metropolis” is what Dencio’s grill is
for. The Filipinos’ natural fondness to eating out and socializing
gave birth to this unique and distinct restaurant concept founded by
Dennis Mariano and Dennis Nakpil. With this, the restaurant started
to serve Filipino dishes in a more comfortable set-up with a
“barrio-like” ambiance in garden-inspired dining areas.
Even the name of the restaurant is truly Filipino. Dencio is the
traditional Filipino counterpart of Dennis, the common name of the
restaurant’s founders.
Their
first branch was opened in 1991 in Katipunan, Quezon City, and has
since boomed to 25 outlets conveniently located all over Luzon.
Dencio’s is now managed and owned by Pancake House, a 100% Filipino
owned publicly listed restaurant chain.
Like other resto bars and grills, Dencio’s offers food that will
surely tickle the tastebuds of its Filipino customers. With food
ranging from the usual Kare-kare to the more exotic Kalderetang
Kambing, each dining experience becomes a unique one.
So if you have at least Php200 to spare, head on to the nearest
branch of Dencio’s and prepare yourself for a meal where you can
readily utter, “Rapsa!”
GERRY'S GRILL

Passion is where Gerry’s Grill started. The fondness for food of
restaurateur Gerry Apolinario led to the birth of this homey
restaurant with a fun, fresh and wholesome atmosphere.
Advocating good food and an entirely relaxing experience, every
Gerry’s o utlet
looks and feels reminiscent of a tropical beach rest house---
natural, restful and unimposing. Each branch has touches of tree
trunks for pillars, driftwood and bamboo for fences, wrought iron
and wicker for furniture, and foliage, ponds and waterfalls for
added ambiance.
Gerry’s Grill's first restaurant was born on Febuary 14, 1997 in
Tomas Morato in Quezon City. To date, Gerry’s already has 32 outlets
nationwide, plus two more in Union City and Artesia in the USA.
Two hundred to Php300 is enough to bring you pleasure and
tranquility. Anyhow, “You’d STILL rather be at Gerry’s.”
From the three resto-bar and grills, “sufficiency” is not just the
bottom line, rather it’s “satisfaction,”---satisfaction from great
food, cool ambiance, and excellent dining. So forget everything
about your bad day, and indulge yourself to pleasing and
enlightening your palate.■ |
